Dance music master Timothy Allan is back with a tutorial on how to make your dance tracks slam with cool builds, fills, and creative use of effects, keeping people on their feet.

Videos
Introduction (01:23) - Timothy welcomes us and discusses what he will be covering in the following videos.
Logic Drummer Fills (10:19) - Here we'll investigate how to use the generative properties of the Logic Drummer to create an unlimited amount of professional sounding drum fills, even if we aren't using a Drummer plugin in our existing track. We'll also see how to incorporate some EQ, distortion, and clipping FX in order to blend the fills into our existing genre of track.
Drummer Tweaks Pt. 1 (02:52) - In this video we learn a technique for blending drum kits to generate drum fills that would be impossible to do with only a single kit.
Drummer Tweaks Pt. 2 (07:40) - This video will show you some couple cool ways to use the generated fills of the Drummer in other programs and sound generators, using the power of General MIDI. We also cover a very important gotcha you should be aware of when making changes to Drummer generated MIDI.
Builds with Existing Content (11:47) - Sometimes to make a great riser or build, all you need is to change things you've already made. In this video we take a look at the controls on the Retro Synth which are going to give you the most bang for your buck in generating a great buildup.
Smart Controls for Lazy Buildups (07:55) - Here we see how to do what we previously did manually, automatically using Smart Controls. Using the controls, we're able to get a much more organic and smooth automation which can be used throughout the track. We also see a few insights on how to fix up a couple of quirks you may encounter using the Logic Smart Controls.
Pitched Risers Pt. 1 (11:20) - The staple of the dance music world, a good riser can make or break the build up of your song. We look at using pitch bend and various audio effects to create a side chained MIDI based riser in the key of our song.
Pitched Risers Pt. 2 (07:14) - Here we take a look at how to do pitched risers in Audio if you don't have access, or don't want to use MIDI and pitch bend. There's a few hidden gems in Logic's plug-in areas and we use one of them to get our audio to bend to our will!
The Panther Fill (04:11) - Named after the jungle cat because it sneaks up on you when you least expect it! We'll see how applying reverse effects to existing sounds can be extremely effective when it comes to creating tension and builds in your track.
Accent FX (07:18) - In this video we check out the Tremolo and Autofilter plugins, and how they can easily add that extra bit of motion and spice to your builds and fills. They're also a great way to allow you to reuse your existing fills and builds without sounding like you've just copied and pasted.
