oeksound bloom Explained
If you're struggling to get your tracks to sound the way you want them, bloom from oeksound could be the answer. In this bloom video course, production guru Larry Holcombe will take you on a deep dive through the plug-in's parameters and controls, demonstrating how you can use it to reshape your tracks for the better in many ways. Whether you need to solve frequency problems or want to add more character, warmth, or clarity, you'll learn it all here, and your productions will thank you! These bloom videos are designed for new bloom users.
Videos
• Introduction & Interface (05:30) - This video introduces the series and plugin and also outlines the different areas of the interface. We also cover a quick-start guide to using the plugin.
• Main Section (07:51) - We discuss the Amount knob and all-important Squash feature next, allowing for input-dependent compression. We also demonstrate the Attack and Release parameters to change the groove of the processing.
• Tone Controls (04:26) - Next up, we investigate the tone controls, with which we can cut or boost certain areas of the frequency spectrum and tonally sculpt the program material.
• Processing Graph (05:43) - This video is concerned with the processing graph, which shows the effect of bloom's processing on the frequency spectrum. It also includes the ability to limit the processing to different areas of the frequency spectrum and also a low and high pass output filter.
• Quality Selector (02:32) - Next up, we discuss the three quality settings for balancing CPU, latency, and phase correlation.
• Stereo Modes (08:17) - This video covers the three stereo modes: linked, M/S split, and L/R split. This allows us to process mid and sides and the left and right channels separately.
• Calibration & Output Sections (04:20) - We cover the Calibration and Output settings next, which we use to match input and output levels so we can really focus on the tonal changes without being tricked by volume.
• Toolbar (04:43) - In this video, we demonstrate the various features located on the toolbar.
• Bloom in Action (12:04) - Finally, we look at using bloom on a couple of track examples.
