bx_clipper Explained
Clipping is bad, right? Nope, not always! In this bx_clipper video course, veteran Groove3 instructor Larry Holcombe provides plenty of evidence of this as he walks you through the sonic possibilities that lie within bx_clipper by Brainworx. You can use this multi-function plug-in for a variety of purposes, such as dynamic control, creative sound-shaping, adding saturation and grit, generating LOUD masters, and more. You'll learn how to tweak each bx_clipper parameter and control confidently to get the desired results in your productions quickly. Videos
• Introduction & Interface (10:39) - This video introduces the series with a summary of the use of clipping as a dynamics processor. We also outline the different areas of the interface.
• Channel Controls Pt. 1 (13:10) - We discuss the use of bx_clipper in left/right and mid/side modes next, allowing us to really focus on different areas of the music. We also discuss the Ambience setting and gain staging.
• Channel Controls Pt. 2 (09:20) - Next up, we deal with the all-important Ceiling and Knee controls, which, when used alongside the Diode and FET modes, give us access to a wide range of sonic palettes.
• Over-Fold Distortion & Metering (11:38) - This video is concerned with adding Over-Fold distortion for extra grit and dirt and also the extensive metering section, with which we can see how bx_clipper is changing the sound.
• bx_clipper in Action Pt. 1 (13:31) - Next up, we use bx_clipper on some real-world audio track examples: distorting a guitar and controlling drums and vocals.
