Ableton Setup
Ableton Live 9 includes a preset for the VI Series. This automatically configures the transport control and mixer volume. But you can also customize the switches to performance controls.

This tutorial doesn't go into many details, except for the very basic ones.

Yes, this tutorial is an entry level study for the VI49 controller and was designed to cover the basics for the rank beginner. I'm sorry you didn't find the lessons covering the basics of the hardware and software deserved a higher rating.
