Product Overview
Do you have a killer EDM song that’s ready to go, but needs that extra something before it’s ready for all the world’s dance floors? In this video tutorial series dance music guru Laurence Holcombe shows you how to polish your dance track, giving it that extra pump and sheen to really stand out amongst the sea of EDM tracks.
Laurence starts by giving you a guided tour of his favorite mastering tools, and how mastering for clubs differs from other forms of audio mastering. He goes on to show you how to prepare your mixdown for mastering, using hi-pass filters for clean low end and a little compression.
Laurence now gets into the nitty gritty with a video showing you how to use EQ to fix balance problems, then it’s on to compression and multiband harmonic excitation. With the track sounding stellar and the harmonics happening, it’s time to work on the stereo imaging.
Laurence emphasizes that with a dance track, you want to make sure the low end is mono compatible, but you also want to make sure the rest of the stereo image is interesting. The last effect to be covered is the use of reverb to add a special dimension to your track.
With the sound sorted, Laurence shifts focus to preparing the song for the world. He discusses limiting your audio, and explains what dither is and what you need to know about it when mastering EDM. Then it’s time to compare your song to a reference track, and to use fine volume automation to add dynamics.
Lastly, he walks you through the final result, so you can see how far you’ve come and how your song is now on a different level. If you produce EDM music and want to give your song that magic dust before introducing it to the dance floor, watch “Mastering for EDM” today!

Great stuff from Larry once again
This was another very well explained series from Larry. Having said that, I am quite angry with him because I was just starting to feel quite comfortable with all the options available to me in Logic for mastering but now he's gone and introduced me to Ozone and I'm starting to feel all at sea. And he's also done a series on mixing and mastering with FabFilter plug-ins too. Does it ever end?! A highly recommended series on mastering. Very accessible.

Single handily one of the best courses I’ve ever taken
This was a fantastic course. It was short(but not too short), sweet, and right to the point. Everything was explained extremely well, clear, and applied to everything I was doing. This is going to be easily one of my go to references for the future moving on.

One Of Groove3's Best
I keep going back and reviewing this whenever I do masters. I even bought a copy just to be have it locally without having to look for it online. This tutorial doesn't just itemize the UI like so many others do, it actually shows you how to use the tools effectively. It explores how to fix problems as well as how to make a good mix sound great.
