This video will teach you how to make a lush pad sound using the new Table mode of the Retro Synth. Tim goes over an audio tour of the available wavetables and then programs up a pad sound from scratch which will form the foundation of the previously made melody. The Annoying Sound
Big, Reverby, and annoying are the three key elements used in this video. You'll see Tim transform a simple generated Tom sample from Ultrabeat into a super annoying, yet super trendy, aggressive lead sound. Using multiple limiters and compressors on a single sound is an engineers nightmare, but nothing is sacred when it comes to EDM. Tim then records a few quick takes and then uses the best bits from each one to make a loop for the tougher part of the track.

The To Do List
Tim explains one of the most valuable things you can do when you reach near completion of your track… The To-Do List! Walk through the to do list, fixing up and changing things that normally wouldn't seem out of place when you just listen to just sections of your track. You'll see how easily this can be done yourself by using the notes feature build into Logic X! Closing down your DAW can sometimes be the best way to simulate an outsiders perspective on your own work. Not being able to see your arrangement view, and listening to your track is a very ear opening experience.

Very useful for a newcomer to Logic
This is a longish course, and assumes some knowledge of music and production, but it's useful for newcomers to the DAW as it shows a lot of what is possible, especially as it uses only Logic plugins.

I really loved the course so far. It is great, detailed, in depth, tens of tips and tricks in sound design as well as logic workflow. The author is very knowledgeable, inspiring and funny. Its strength is its weakness
There are some great tips and tricks in here regarding Logic Pro X - but the length of these videos is daunting.... Some of this is a natural bi-product of EDM, (Video gamers, manipulating sound, for people who don't really like music anyway) But, some it has to do with the fact that the instructor left the "camera" rolling when he shouldn't have... If he were to have made some edits afterword for "instructional" portions - this video would have been world class. But, as it stands, given the amount of time - one could almost learn the same by just messing with the plugins for seven+ hours.....

Good enough
I have seen almost all the video's by now and I think I am ready for a review. I am a beginner in Logic Pro X and in EDM so I write it from that perspective. I am satisfied with the video's, but I do not think it is great. It's good. What I like is that these video's shows you the entire process of creating the track from start to finish. I also like the included project file. I kind of followed along with the video's so I created my first EDM track based on the track made in the video's. So in that sense, it is really good. What I missed however is a bit more of explanation. I understand that these video's are not supposed to explain basic Logic functions, but sometimes I wonder why he puts a Compressor on a track etc. I know how compressor's work, but it is just the reasoning behind why for a particular track he chooses to use a compressor with the particular settings. Off course, doing this the whole time would make these video's to long, but a bit more would have been appreciated. I also would have liked to see some arrangement markings in the project files. Especially for beginners like me it would have been very helpfull. Nevertheless, I do not regret buying these video's and I will watch it till the end. I learned a lot from it.

Just purchased this and not quite finished watching the whole tutorial, but so far I have got a lot of great information. I think this will help me get up to speed with Logic. I have been using Pro Tools, Reason and Live and decided to make the switch from PT as my main DAW and go with Logic, due to Avid going with a subscription platform.
